ceat-winmile-s
CEAT Winmile S

CEAT is a large Indian tire maker — the Halol plant that builds its truck and bus radials is the first tire plant anywhere to earn the World Economic Forum’s Lighthouse certification — and it brought its TBR range to North America in 2024 and 2025. The Winmile S is the steer tire in that range. CEAT files it under regional work rather than long haul, and we quote it in two of our four sizes: 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5, both 16 ply rating, Load Range H, 146/143 L.

CEAT’s own design notes are short and specific. The shoulder rib is wider than the ribs beside it and carries a uniform contact area, which CEAT credits with lateral stability during a manoeuvre and with the even wear that follows from it — the shoulder is where a steer tire shows its wear first, so that is the right place to spend the design. Under the tread is what CEAT calls a durable casing structure with a weather-resistance compound, built to take impact and to age without going brittle, and to come back as a retread.

Be clear about what this page does not tell you, because that is CEAT’s doing and not ours. CEAT’s US spec table publishes ply rating, overall diameter, rim and section width and stops there. There is no published tread depth, no published tire weight and no published maximum inflation pressure for the line, so the size table below carries neither a tread nor a weight column and the pressure shown is the standard Load Range H figure, 120 psi, not a CEAT number. The dimensions we do have — 41.3 inch overall diameter on an 8.25 rim in 11R22.5, 39.8 inch on a 9.00 rim in 295/75R22.5 — are CEAT’s own.

What it is not. It is a steer and all-position pattern, so the drive axle takes the Winmile D and the trailer takes the Winmile T; we quote both. It is not on the EPA SmartWay verified list, so it cannot answer a fuel-economy spec or a CARB-regulated lane. CEAT’s own sidewall artwork for this pattern carries M+S and marks the casing regroovable, but there is no three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, so it is not a severe-snow answer either. And CEAT publishes no US warranty document, no casing-credit program and no named retread pattern for this line, so treat the casing as having one life until your retreader tells you otherwise. Speed symbol L, 75 mph. This is a new line in this market with no US service history behind it yet, which is worth weighing on a steer axle.

If your buying decision rests on documentation, the steer tires on this store that carry it are the Michelin X Line Energy Z, Bridgestone R213 Ecopia, Firestone FS592 and FS591, Goodyear Endurance LHS and Yokohama 108R — all SmartWay verified, all with a published casing warranty and a named retread channel. The Double Coin FR610 sits in between: SmartWay verified with a published spec table, without the retread ecosystem. Tell us the truck, the axle and the size and we will put two or three of them on one quote so you can compare all-in delivered numbers side by side.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1025/9107/0484/files/ceat-winmile-s_cd3a7509-aae1-4009-a019-982d298ff6df.png?v=1787425313
