It runs behind the tractor on regional freight, drop-yard shuttles and tight-dock loads — the axles that carry weight and take scrub, and are never asked to pull or steer.

Depth is the argument for this tire. It carries 19/32 inch of tread in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 and 20/32 in 295/75R22.5. The line-haul fuel trailer tires we quote — Michelin X Line Energy T2, Bridgestone R123 Ecopia, Firestone FT492 — run 11/32; the Yokohama BluEarth 109L runs 12/32; Double Coin FT115 runs 13/32; the deep-tread specialist in the class, the Goodyear Endurance RST, runs 18/32. That extra rubber is removal miles and scrub tolerance: more to give up in the yard and at the dock before the tire comes off the trailer. What you pay for it is rolling resistance — a deep tread is not a fuel tread, and Invovic publishes no rolling-resistance figure either way, so we make no fuel claim in either direction.

The tread is five ribs split by four wide circumferential grooves that push water out from under the footprint. S-shaped sipes cut across the ribs to add biting edges on a wet road and to let the rubber shed heat. Decoupling grooves at the shoulder let the outside rib flex a little on its own. Stone ejectors sit in the four main grooves to kick rocks out before they drill toward the belts. Every size is 16-ply Load Range H at 120 psi — there is no 14-ply Load Range G build — rated 6,005 lb dual in 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5 and 6,610 lb dual in 11R24.5.

What it is not. It is not a steer tire. Invovic publishes no steer or all-position rating for this pattern, and the steer axle is the one place a tire failure is not survivable, so we quote it for trailer axles only — do not let a shop mount it up front. It is not a drive tire either; ribs do not dig. It is not EPA SmartWay verified: Invovic does not appear on EPA’s verified low-rolling-resistance list, so it cannot go under a 53-foot box trailer operating in California under the state’s tractor-trailer greenhouse-gas rule. It is not made in 285/75R24.5, so a trailer running that size takes a different brand — say the word and we will quote one. And if you run a casing program, look elsewhere: there is no published Invovic casing warranty and no Invovic retread program, so plan on this casing having one life until your retreader tells you otherwise.

The benchmark for the same duty cycle is the Goodyear Endurance RST — an 18/32 inch regional and spread-axle trailer tire, marked by Goodyear for trailer use only, listed by Goodyear in all four sizes we quote. What the RST documents, the FM591 has nothing to answer with: a published casing warranty that covers the casing, not the tread, good for unlimited retreads for seven years from the casing DOT date when the retreading is done by a Goodyear Authorized Retreader, and for the first retread only across those same seven years when it is not; a named retread pattern to send that casing back as, Goodyear UniCircle Endurance RST; and a published dimensional table you can hand a fleet auditor. Against the RST you give up all three, and gain 1/32 to 2/32 of tread. Load capacity does not separate them: in the three sizes both are built in, each is 16-ply Load Range H with the same service description. Neither tire is EPA SmartWay verified, so if fuel economy is the target, the verified trailer tires we quote are the Michelin X Line Energy T2, Bridgestone R123 Ecopia, Firestone FT492, Yokohama BluEarth 109L and Double Coin FT115. What the FM591 gives back is the same trailer-axle job, factory direct, from a plant we import from with no distributor in between. Michelin publishes exactly one usage for it, long-distance transport, and exactly one axle position, trailer. It is the dual-fitment tire; the wide-base single is a different product. It replaces the X Line Energy T. Michelin’s own positioning is that this is their most fuel-efficient dual trailer tire for truckload, long-haul transportation, and Michelin displays SmartWay verification for it. We quote it in three sizes: 11R22.5 in load range G at 144/142 L, 11R24.5 in load range H at 149/146 L, and 295/75R22.5 in load range G at 144/141 L.

The fuel story comes from a two-layer tread. The top layer is a mileage compound Michelin says controls tread stiffness and stress to reduce irregular wear. Underneath sits an ultra-fuel-efficiency base layer that Michelin says minimizes internal casing temperatures for low rolling resistance. Four wide circumferential grooves and micro sipes along the rib edges put biting edges across a broad contact patch; Michelin’s internal testing puts its wet stopping, new and worn, ahead of two leading competitor tires. Tread is 11/32" in all three sizes. The casing is built to be run again: curb guards and upper sidewall ribs that Michelin says help fight sidewall damage at docks and in yards, and a rectangular bead bundle protecting the casing.

Trailer axles only. Michelin publishes no steer and no drive fitment for this tire, so do not spec it up front, whatever a retailer listing may say. It is not a winter tire — no 3PMSF severe-snow symbol and not even an M+S marking — so keep it out of snow-traction duty. Speed symbol L caps it at 75 mph. Michelin’s application chart is line haul and nothing else; regional, urban and on/off-road stop-and-go are what the deeper X Multi range is for. Michelin’s additional coverage is a limited casing warranty — the casing, not the tire — and it applies only to tires used in long-haul service and requires retreading by an authorized Michelin Retread Technologies dealer, so mixed duty can forfeit it. On sizes: Michelin no longer catalogues the T2 in 285/75R24.5, so this model covers three of the four sizes we quote. It is also not RFID-equipped and not MEMS-ready, so it will not feed a tire-monitoring system.

If the axle job matters more than the badge, the Invovic FM591 is our factory-direct trailer tire in the same position, molded in Cambodia and offered in 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, all in 16-ply Load Range H. This Michelin is Load Range G in 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5 and H only in 11R24.5, so the two share a load range in one size. It is the opposite bet on tread: 19/32 in the 11R sizes and 20/32 in 295/75R22.5, against this Michelin’s 11/32. That is removal miles and scrub tolerance instead of rolling resistance, and it is the right trade only if the trailer is not being bought on fuel. The rest of what Michelin documents, the FM591 cannot answer: the Michelin Retread Technologies pre-mold program with named matching retread patterns, EPA SmartWay verification, and published test substantiation you can go read. Fleets retreading on an MRT contract, or that require a SmartWay-verified tire, should stay on the Michelin. Bridgestone builds the R123 Ecopia for single- and tandem-axle trailers and dollies in long-haul and regional-haul highway service, and the design brief is fuel first. If your trailers roll interstate miles behind a linehaul tractor — van, reefer or dry freight — this is the axle it was drawn for. All four sizes we quote are Load Range G, 14 ply, speed symbol L for 75 mph, on an 11/32 inch tread: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 at 105 psi max cold inflation, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5 at 110 psi.

Most of the fuel work happens in the compound and the sidewall. Bridgestone’s NanoPro-Tech polymers cut the energy the rubber loses as heat every time it flexes. The IntelliShape sidewall runs less bead filler, so there is less mass to heat up to begin with, and a Fuel Saver Sidewall compound carries the gain forward — Bridgestone says it keeps saving fuel both when new and retreaded. The tread belongs to the same package: 11/32 inch is shallow for rolling resistance first, and what that buys on a free-rolling axle is less block movement, which means less squirm, heat and irregular wear. Cross-Rib Sipes slice through water for grip when the road is wet. Thick ribs on both sidewalls fight curbing damage to protect the casing, and the belt package is built to survive the retread cycle: Bridgestone pattern-matches this casing to the Bandag B123 FuelTech.

It is not an all-position tire. Bridgestone’s data book calls it a trailer use only tire, so it does not belong on a steer or drive axle, ever. Yard and spotter work and dock shunting sit outside Bridgestone’s recommended application for this tire. Severe service, on/off-highway and off-highway work, waste and refuse, mining and logging go further — they void the Enhanced Casing Credit Limited Warranty outright, which costs you the retread value that makes a fuel tire pay. That credit only survives a casing run in long-haul, regional or P&D highway service its whole life. The shallow tread was chosen for rolling resistance, not for cut or scrub resistance. There is no 3PMSF severe-snow rating and no published M+S marking, so do not spec it as a winter tire. And it is Load Range G only: Bridgestone does not build a Load Range H R123 in any of our four sizes, so a fleet that needs 16-ply trailer capacity has to move to another line. Before you order 295/75R22.5, check the trailer — that size wants 13.2 inches of minimum dual spacing.

Our own Invovic FM591 does the same free-rolling trailer job from the other direction: a deep 19/32 to 20/32 rib design from our factory-direct import line, molded in Cambodia, quoted in 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5 in 16-ply Load Range H only — a ply rating the R123 is not built in, so the two never share a load range. What the R123 brings that the FM591 does not is documentation. It is EPA SmartWay verified and CARB compliant. It carries Bridgestone’s limited warranty for 6 years from the date of manufacture, down to 2/32 inch, plus an Enhanced Casing Credit on the casing that runs to the end of the retread period on Bridgestone’s table or 7 years from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first, with retreads inspected and retreaded by an authorized Bandag dealer only. It has a named matched retread, the Bandag B123 FuelTech. Bridgestone publishes per-size dimensional data down to the 13.2 inch minimum dual spacing on 295/75R22.5, and builds the R123 in all four of the sizes we quote against the FM591's three. Its 295/75R22.5 is documented as built at Bridgestone’s LaVergne, Tennessee plant. For the FM591 there is no SmartWay verification, no matched retread pattern and no casing-credit program published. Bridgestone publishes no mileage warranty on the R123 either — the data book says none is expressed or implied — so judge both on the axle they have to run. Firestone builds the FT492 for single- and tandem-axle trailers and for dollies in long-haul and regional-haul highway service, which in practice is truckload and LTL work where the trailer runs loaded, runs straight, and the eight positions behind the tractor are pure fuel burn. That is the job it is designed around. It is EPA SmartWay verified and CARB compliant, so it clears fleets that have to document low rolling resistance.

The fuel economy comes from compound and geometry, not from shorting the tread alone. Firestone’s patented NanoPro-Tech polymer limits energy loss in the compound. The high rigidity tread pattern controls movement of the ribs and blocks during rotation, which Firestone credits for long, even wear and reduced rolling resistance. The Defense Groove structure creates uniform shoulder pressure to fight shoulder edge wear. Cross-rib sipes slice through water for grip on wet pavement; the stress-relief sipes do a different job, absorbing rib-edge stress in the footprint to fight irregular wear along the main ribs. Durability and retreadability come from the optimized belt package, which also takes weight out alongside the IntelliShape sidewall: the 295/75R22.5 weighs 94 lb. Protector ribs take the curb hits. Tread depth is 11/32 in every size we quote.

It is a trailer tire and nothing else. Firestone publishes no steer, drive or all-position rating for the FT492, so it does not belong on a front axle or under power. It carries no Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake marking, so it must not be sold as severe-snow rated; the Firestone pattern that meets the 3PMSF criteria is the FD692 drive tire, not this one. Shallow 11/32 tread is a deliberate trade, and it is the wrong trade for abrasive surfaces, yards, job sites or anything off the pavement. Firestone puts that in writing: severe service, mining and logging are excluded, and the casing warranty assumes long-haul, regional or pickup-and-delivery highway service for the entire life of the casing. Every size we quote is load range G, 14 ply, speed symbol L, 75 mph: 11R22.5 at 144/142 L, 11R24.5 at 146/143 L, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5 at 144/141 L. There is no load range H FT492 in any of those four; the only H build Firestone makes is 255/70R22.5, which is not a size we quote. And Firestone states plainly that no mileage warranty is expressed or implied, so nobody here will hand you a miles-to-removal number.

The factory-direct alternative in this position is the Invovic FM591, a deep-tread free-rolling rib design that does the same trailer-axle job on our own import program, molded in Cambodia, in 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, in 16-ply Load Range H where the FT492 is 14-ply Load Range G. It runs 19/32 to 20/32 against the FT492’s 11/32, which is the whole trade: removal miles instead of rolling resistance. The rest of the difference is documentary. The FT492 is EPA SmartWay verified and CARB compliant; it carries Firestone’s base limited warranty, six years from date of manufacture down to 2/32; it is eligible for the Enhanced Casing Credit Limited Warranty, which pays on the casing only when the tire has been inspected and retreaded by an authorized Bandag dealer, and only in long-haul, regional or pickup-and-delivery highway service; it has a named matched retread in Bandag B123 FuelTech; Firestone publishes a tire weight for every size; and it is built in all four of the sizes we quote. The FM591 carries no SmartWay listing, no published casing-credit schedule and no named retread pattern, Invovic publishes no tire weight, and it is not made in 285/75R24.5. Spread-axle trailers, tight-radius regional routes, drop yards where the box gets swung around all day — duty where the tread gets dragged sideways instead of just rolled. Goodyear’s own positioning calls the Endurance RST its best regional and spread-axle trailer tire for long miles to removal, and it replaces the G619 RST. We quote it in four sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, all Load Range H.

The mechanism is four parts working together. Goodyear specs an advanced scrub-resistant compound — its own term — so the tread mix is the first line against lateral shear. Above it sits what Goodyear calls a robust shoulder rib design, which the company says helps resist lateral scrubbing and curb damage; that rib sits exactly where a spread axle and a curb do their damage. Then depth: 18/32" in every one of the four sizes, against the 12/32" Goodyear runs on its line-haul trailer patterns — more rubber to give up before the tire comes off the axle. Underneath, the improved casing design is what Goodyear credits for the higher load range: Load Range H at 120 psi in all four sizes, 146/143 L in 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5, 149/146 L in 11R24.5, 147/144 L in 285/75R24.5. Goodyear prints "for trailer use only" three separate times in its own literature for this tire. Do not spec it on a steer or a drive position. It is also not a fuel-economy tire, and that is a determination rather than an oversight: Goodyear badges its Fuel Max LHT, G316 LHT and Marathon LHT trailer lines as EPA SmartWay verified and puts no badge on the Endurance RST. If you are building to a SmartWay-verified spec or running CARB-regulated lanes, this is the wrong tire and we will say so before you order. There is no 3PMSF severe-snow rating and no published M+S marking, and speed is capped at 75 mph. Flat, straight, long-haul van miles are not its best work either — that duty rewards a shallower, lighter, free-rolling rib. One more thing before you commit a fleet spec: the matching Endurance RST UniCircle retread cap is published in 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, but not in 285/75R24.5, so that size cannot be re-capped in the same pattern.

If what you need is the trailer axle covered and nothing more, the Invovic FM591 is the alternative from our own import brand — 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5 in 16-ply Load Range H, the same load range as the RST, molded in Cambodia, and the only trailer tire on this store that goes deeper than the RST: 19/32" in the 11R sizes and 20/32" in 295/75R22.5 against the Goodyear’s 18/32". The Endurance RST carries Goodyear’s premium casing warranty: unlimited retreads for seven years from new-tire manufacture or purchase when the casing is retreaded by a Goodyear Authorized Retreader, otherwise coverage through the first retread for seven years, written against exactly these four sizes. It has a named matching retread — the UniCircle Endurance RST cap — and a published engineering data table you can check line by line, per-size weight included: 115 lbs in 11R22.5, 109 lbs in 295/75R22.5. For the FM591 we publish no casing-warranty term, no matching retread cap and no tire weight. On third-party verification the two stand level: neither is EPA SmartWay verified and neither carries a 3PMSF marking. Size coverage is where they part — the two go head to head in 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, and in 285/75R24.5 there is no FM591 to weigh against the Goodyear. Yokohama calls the casing ultra-durable, and the 109L is named by model on its Seven Year, Unlimited Retread Warranty — casing coverage, not tire coverage, and it holds only for casings retreaded in a manner consistent with standard industry practice. The compound is where the fuel story lives: Yokohama says it resists wear and provides one of the lowest rolling resistance coefficients in the category. That is Yokohama’s exact wording, hedge included, and we leave the hedge in. All four sizes run 12/32 of tread and are built in the USA at West Point, Mississippi.

It is not a steer or drive tire. Yokohama publishes no all-position and no drive application, so spec it behind the kingpin. One nuance fleet buyers ask about: the 109L is not stamped a Free Rolling Tire. Yokohama reserves that designation, and its no-other-position fitment prohibition, for other part numbers. It is not severe-snow rated either, with no 3PMSF symbol and no published M+S marking, so it will not satisfy a winter traction spec. Load range G only, so if your spec calls for a 16-ply H-range trailer casing, this is not it. Four sizes and no more: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5. And it is not a weight play. It carries 12/32 of tread where the major-brand load-range-G trailer tires on this store — Michelin X Line Energy T2, Bridgestone R123 Ecopia and Firestone FT492 — carry 11/32, and it weighs more for that rubber: 109 lb in 11R22.5 against 103 to 105 lb for those three. There is no mileage warranty. Coverage runs to the 2/32 wear indicators or five years from purchase, whichever comes first.

Our own Invovic FM591 is the factory-direct trailer tire in the same position. Same axle, same job, opposite bet on tread — 19/32 to 20/32 against the 109L’s 12/32, which trades rolling resistance for removal miles. The rest of the difference is what each maker puts on paper. The 109L is named on Yokohama’s Seven Year, Unlimited Retread Warranty — casing coverage, conditional on standard-practice retreading — carries EPA SmartWay verification, is built in the USA at West Point, Mississippi, and Yokohama publishes a weight for every size. Invovic’s sheets carry none of that: no casing-warranty program, no SmartWay listing, no published per-size weights, and the tire is imported from Cambodia. Neither maker names a branded retread pattern for these casings, and neither tire is 3PMSF. Size coverage is the other constraint: the FM591 covers 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, so on 285/75R24.5 there is no Invovic swap and the 109L is measured against the other majors. Double Coin builds the FT115 for long-distance hauling and lists it as EPA SmartWay verified, crediting an advanced fuel-efficient compound with the improved rolling resistance. It has the widest size coverage of any trailer tire we quote: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 in Load Range G and H, 285/75R24.5 in G and H, and 295/75R22.5 in G — seven builds across all four sizes.

The tread is shallow by design at 13/32 inch. That is not a shortcoming on a trailer axle, it is the point: less rubber under the belts means less heat and less rolling resistance, which is where a fuel-focused trailer tire earns its keep. For reference, the Michelin X Line Energy T2, Bridgestone R123 Ecopia and Firestone FT492 all run 11/32 and the Yokohama BluEarth 109L runs 12/32, so the FT115 sits at the deep end of the fuel-trailer class. If what you want is maximum removal miles instead, the deep-tread trailer tires on this store are the Goodyear Endurance RST at 18/32 and our own Invovic FM591 at 19/32 to 20/32.

Stone ejectors sit in the grooves to push trapped rock back out before it works toward the belts, and there is extensive siping across the ribs to spread edge stress and hold off the uneven wear that trailer scrub causes. Double Coin publishes a full spec table, so the dimensions and fitment table below is filled in with overall diameter, section width, revs per mile, static loaded radius, measuring rim and the product code for every build. Note that two of the Load Range G builds carry speed symbol M, 81 mph, and the rest carry L, 75 mph.

What it is not. Trailer axles only. Do not let a shop put it on a steer, and it will not pull on a drive axle — Double Coin’s answers there are the FR610 and the FD405. It carries no three-peak mountain snowflake marking. There is no mileage warranty; the coverage is a limited warranty against defects plus the seven-year, three-retread casing program.

The comparison worth making is against the majors' verified trailer tires, because that is the same job with the same badge on the fuel question: Michelin X Line Energy T2, Bridgestone R123 Ecopia, Firestone FT492 and Yokohama BluEarth 109L are all SmartWay verified too. Where they pull ahead is the retread channel — MRT for the Michelin with named matching patterns, Bandag B123 FuelTech for the Bridgestone and Firestone — and the depth of published substantiation behind the fuel claims. The FT115 answers with 2/32 more tread than most of them and coverage in 285/75R24.5 Load Range H, which several of them do not build. CEAT’s design answer is a rounded shoulder rib, which it credits with resisting exactly that lateral scrubbing, and the even wear and longer life that follow. The sidewall carries a scrub-resistant compound aimed at curb and dock rub. The closed shoulder is there to fend off the uneven wear that trailer scrub causes, since a trailer axle is dragged sideways every time the box is jockeyed into a dock. The wide grooves drain water out of the tread. Amulet also builds it deliberately shallow — 11/32 inch in both sizes, per its own US spec table — to hold down heat build-up, which is the standard trailer-tire trade: fewer removal miles in exchange for a cooler casing and less rolling resistance.

The numbers on this page come off that spec table: load and inflation for both builds, the tread depth, an overall diameter of 41.5 inches in 11R22.5 and 39.9 in 295/75R22.5, and the section width, approved rim and item number, so the dimensions table below carries them. Amulet publishes no tire weight, so the size table has no weight column and the figure on your freight quote is our estimate.
